FV1: Hawu, Mavis! How did you make that dress so white?

FV2: Easy, Precious! I used new Sparkle Washing Powder.

FV1: Eish! Where did you get it?

FV2: The Spaza Shop.

FV1: Serious?

FV2: Yebo, it has Scientifically Formulated Micro Granules that remove stains. So
your back won’t hurt when you wash your clothes at the river.

FV1: Mavis, you’re going to be the best dressed girl at the ballroom dancing.

FV2: Hawu, you’re making me blush.

FV1: See you later Mavis. I must go. Eish! These mielies on my head are so heavy.

ANNCR1: Sparkle Washing Powder. It makes your clothes clean.

ANNCR2: The South African advertising industry does not have enough black creative people. Vega, The Brand Communication School is offering a range of bursaries. For more information call (011) 883-0130.
Brief Explanation

IN SOUTH AFRICA THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF BLACK CREATIVES IN ADVERTISING AGENCIES. WHITE CREATIVES GENERALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE BLACK MARKET AND OFTEN WRITE COMMERCIALS LADEN WITH CLICHES. THE DIALOGUE IN THESE RADIO COMMERCIALS SHOWS A TOTAL LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF BLACK CULTURE AND WORK CLEARLY WRITTEN BY A WHITE CREATIVE TEAM. VEGA BRAND COMMUNICATION SCHOOL GIVES US THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM BY OFFERING BURSARIES TO YOUNG BLACK PEOPLE, WHO NATURALLY WOULD HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BLACK MARKET.
