MVO1: Yes that’s right.

MVO2: My name is Tolerance Maseko from the Department of Name Changes and Reconciliation.

MVO1: Yes.

MVO2: Well sir, the Department have decided to change the name Rooibank to Umfula Ugcwele.

MVO1: What kind of (BEEP) name is that!?

MVO2: It means that the river on your farm carries a lot of water.

MVO1: There’s (BEEP) water…(LAUGHS) There’s (BEEP) water at Rooibank my boy.

ANN: It takes time getting used to a new name. Lemon Twist is now called Twist Lemon. The same great taste just a new name. Twist Lemon. Put a twist in it.

Script in Orginal Language

SFX: Phone ringing.

MVO1: Hallo, le Roux goeie middag.

MVO2: Middag meneer le Roux. Is u meneer Eden le Roux?

MVO1: Ja.

MVO2: Besit u ‘n plaas genaam Rooibank?

Dieselfde lekker smaak, net ‘n nuwe naam. Twist Lemon. Put a twist in it.

Brief Explanation

The brief was to make consumers aware that Lemon Twist and Schweppes Sparkling Granadilla had changed their names to Twist Lemon and Twist Granadilla. None of the people we called were aware that the conversation was being recorded.
