Script in English

SFX: A MEETING ENDING. CHAIRS SLIDING.

JEN: Great, eight months later, that deal’s done.

DAVE: I’ll have the contracts sent over Tuesday morning.

SFX: FLIPPING A DATE BOOK

JEN: Let me see... I can’t do it. Looks like I’m having a heart attack on Tuesday morning.

DAVE: Excuse me?

JEN: Chest pains hit around eight-thirty, as I’m getting ready for work. At eight forty-five, my left arm will go numb and I’ll sink the floor. At nine-thirty, a paramedic named Carlos will ask my kids to leave the room, and start pounding on my chest.

AVO: Two out of three people with diabetes will have a heart attack or stroke. If you’re not taking diabetes seriously, you might as well plan yours.

JEN: At ten, we’ll be racing through traffic to the closest emergency room. And, at eleven, I’m pretty much being strapped onto a gurney, and rushed into surgery for the next six hours.

DAVE: Monday, then?

AVO: You can do something. Ask your doctor about your A1C number. Managing your A1C number can reduce the risk of complications, like heart attacks. A1C is a measure of diabetes control, and it’s a test you’re already taking. To find out more, go to Know your A1C dot com. A message from the Diabetes Care Coalition.
