Full script of the ad IN ENGLISH, REGARDLESS OF THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE OF THE AD
ANN: It is early in December and Cedric Prattletwerp, proprietor of the small second-hand bookshop on Bayswater Road, is troubled by an unfamiliar sensation: he has come over all a bit Christmassy. SFX: Ting! ANN: 'Hurrumph', he hurrumphs, and heads for the bus stop, attracted like a moth to the distant glow of the West End. Cedric steps off the Number 94 into the wonderland that is Oxford Street... SFX: Brass band playing Christmas carols ANN: ...his bookish pallor transformed by 700,000 watts of flickering good cheer. 'HO HO HO' insists the unemployed roofing engineer in a Santa suit outside the department store. 'HA', replies Cedric, as he makes his way to the escalator. For Cedric has decided to buy someone a Christmas present. Himself. A plasma TV. Noel, the young assistant, patiently demonstrates all 27 models available. Cedric singles out 50 inches of pixelated wonderment and, pressing the young man’s hand in pitiful gratitude... SFX: Music stops suddenly ANN: ...goes to Dixons.co.uk and buys it. Dixons.co.uk. The last place you want to go this Christmas.
