Script in English

MVO1: Here I am at San Diego Zoo's new Monkey Trails, where self-proclaimed extpert in Simian
Linguistics, Dr. Ben Welsh is going to help us translate the sounds of what are believed to be the world's happiest monkeys. So what are they saying Doctor?

MVO2: That mandrill there, he's saying 'sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy' of course
in the northern African mandrill dialect this means 'Patricia, you is my woman now'

MVO1: Of course. And the little Guenon?

MVO2: Something like 'I just love the smell of 3 acres of monkey paradise in the morning' which
metaphorically speaking means 'I wish I owned an Oldsmobile'

MVO1: Oldsmobile.

MVO2: You see, a monkey's frame of reference is very different to ours; they have different
interests like they don't have a word for say jelly or shot-put.

MVO1: And oooh, oooh, oooh, what does that mean?

MVO2: Yes, this means 'Monkey Trails Lovely'. Which oooh is monkey and which oooh is trails
beats me.

MVO1: Interesting. And the Mangabey?

MVO2: Yes, he's litereally say ahhh, ahhh, ahhh like you know, when you stub your toe.

MVO1: Maybe you should come see for yourself why San Diego Zoo's new Monkey Trails is
where every monkey would love to live.
