Script in English

MVO: I am from another time.
I am the raven who was there and saw
The Crowne Prince Franz Ferdinand shot.
Before he went
His gaze met mine.
Now I carry his vision in me.
And when you come to the Schauspielhaus
And see the play '1914'
And we meet
Then perhaps
I will pass it to thee.
Script in Orginal Language

MVO: Ich komme aus einer anderen Zeit.
Ich bin der Rabe,
Der da war und sah
Als Kronprinz Franz Ferdinand starb.
Sein Blick traf den meinen
Bevor er verging.
Nun trage ich ihn in mir.
Und wenn du ins Schauspielhaus gehst
Und dir das Stück '1914' ansiehst
Und wir uns begegnen –
Wer weiss? –
Vielleicht schenk’ ich ihn dir?
Brief Explanation

This spot blurs the traditional boundaries between the editorial radio spot and classical advertising. It is created in the form of a radio play and avoids the use of the usual connecting element that normally steers the listener’s attention back to the advertised product – in this case the theatre piece "1914“, which focuses on the sequence of events around the murder of the Austrian-Hungarian heir to the throne.

The content: Leon Askin plays a hundred year old raven that has witnessed the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and has ever since carried the vision of the dying heir within itself. Through the piece "1914“, the raven conveys the sequence of events to the audience.
