Full script of the ad IN ENGLISH, REGARDLESS OF THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE OF THE AD
MVO: Hello. I’m the mandatory voice-over. Don’t know who I am? I’m the guy who comes in at the end of every ad. The guy who says ‘Conditions apply.’ ‘Contains no fruit, contains added flavours,’ or better still ‘Mutual funds are subject to market risk, please read the offer document carefully before investing’. Yes, that’s me. The guy who always has only a second or two in the script, three max, if I’m lucky. I don’t have the luxury of time and my job is as tough as they come. Don’t believe me? Try saying this: ‘The company proposes, subject to receipt of requisite approvals, market conditions and other considerations to make a public offer of non convertible debentures’ in 3 seconds? Nobody ever gives me enough time to speak, and that’s why I have to speak fast. Wanna know where I get all the energy to talk so fast? Well, it’s simple. I have Supractiv Complete, which nourishes me from head to toe and keeps me energised, all day. By the way, stunts performed in this ad are done by experts. Please do not try to replicate them at home.

Brief Explanation
Mandatory voice-over is a part of every stock market related financial services product ads, (TVC as well as radio spots) that’s air in India. It’s a directive by the Government and comes at the end of the commercial. Since it’s a Government regulation, advertisers rush through it just to ensure that they have met all regulations. As the name suggests, it’s a mandatory message cautioning audience that the product being marketed is subject to market risks.
