Brief Explanation
This is the video used to introduce Google Play, a new premium digital content destination where you can buy and enjoy music, movies, books, apps and games wherever you are, on the web and on your mobile (Android) device.
The video was designed to illuminate the new service in a fun and engaging way; the Briefcase concept illustrated the idea that all your entertainment is now all in one place, available anywhere you go, on the web and on your devices.
The Briefcase was fully functional and required six puppeteers on set to operate. The final video is a composited compilation of two main takes and a couple of beauty passes. The functioning briefcase innards were then composited into a smaller briefcase in post that, while on set, could be closed and removed by the actor. While the projector in the box worked and had practical lighting, the geometric animation was added in post.
