The campaign on social media o "Magic Straw" indicates the hidden sugar in drinks
mcgarrybowen São Paulo in partnership with Children's Hospital Sabará launched a digital campaign in order to warn of excessive consumption of sugar on children’s diet.
The unbalanced eating habits in childhood can impact adult life decisively. An obese child at six years old, for example, has a 50% chance of being an obese adult, while a teenager has 70-80% chance.
"Brazilian teenagers are consuming 45% more sugar than recommended, on industrialized beverages. Be aware of what we are consuming inside and outside home, can play a decisive role in the overall health of individuals, "said Dr. Felipe Lora, Endocrine Pediatrician at Children's Hospital Sabará.
