AECOM just released its first ever broadcast TV spot, directed by John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood) and created by the L.A. agency Battery. It's a short film about a young surfer from South L.A. who commutes by Metro Line to Santa Monica. This stunning gem celebrates L.A., the Metro Line and AECOM's transformational work on the area’s transportation infrastructure. The spot aired on CNBC, timed to coincide with AECOM CEO Michael Burke’s ringing of The Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
AECOM is a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm and the largest publicly traded company headquartered in L.A.. The company designs, builds, finances and operates infrastructure assets for governments, businesses and organizations in more than 150 countries; partnering with clients to imagine and deliver innovative solutions for the world’s most complex challenges. With $17.4B in revenue, AECOM is number 156 on the 2016 Fortune 500 list and is named one of Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies. The company recently named Battery as its Global Creative Agency of Record, which was covered in the press:
L.A.'s homegrown hero, John Singleton is on a comeback, or a recharge according to Variety, and this new AECOM work is part of that. Below is a Q&A with this super talented director, which you can use in your press coverage. Also below are production credits for the spot. Singleton is represented for commercial productions by @LArge Productions.
“We are delighted to have partnered with iconic director John Singleton on our first television commercial, spotlighting how we collaborate with our clients, like L.A. Metro, to imagine and deliver innovative solutions for their most complex challenges,” said Michael S. Burke, AECOM chairman and chief executive officer. “Coinciding with a growing demand for integrated and more efficient approaches to infrastructure delivery, we are proud to share our story of bringing an unparalleled range of disciplines together to realize the most visionary projects in the world."
"AECOM brings the best minds together to spark better ideas, connect neighborhoods and create opportunity,” said Heather Rim, AECOM’s chief marketing and communications officer. “This innovative spirit is captured in our commercial and new tagline, Imagine it. Delivered. Both a call-to-action and a promise to our clients, we're saying bring us your impossible and we're here to make it a reality."
“AECOM is a company that turns dreams into reality, solving many of the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges,” said Philip Khosid, Battery co-Founder and CCO. “Working side by side with them has been an incredible experience. This is a truly unique brand, with an important corporate story to tell, and they are telling it in a creative, meaningful way.”
