Brief Explanation:
Everything in these films are real. No professional actors were used, and all reactions are genuine. The first film was only aired once, prime time on a friday evening. The man, Clabbe, made sure his girlfriend was watching tv that night. He had told nothing to no one, so she was quite shocked when he, all of a sudden, appeared on the screen. And she was even more shocked when she heard what he had to say.
Earlier that day, when she was at work, we placed hidden cameras in their living room. So that we got all her reactions on film. That material was then used in the sequal, that was aired exactly one week later. Same time, same channel.
A man proposing through national tv is nothing you see every day. So our happy couple were interviewed by both sweden’s biggest newspaper and Public Radio. A great proof that we had created something more than just two commercials.
Finally, it’s worth saying that ”Suddenly it happens” is one of swedens most famous taglines ever. Needing no further explanation.
