History of Amazon

Amazon company was created in 1994 by an American businessman Jeff Bezos and in 1995 a site was launched. Amazon started as a bookstore. However, in 1998 it began selling records and videos, MP3-records, software, video games, clothes, electronics, furniture, food products and toys.

Amazon has retail websites for the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Netherlands, Japan, China, India, Brazil, Mexico. Amazon also offers international delivery to other countries for some of its products.

Throughout the decade of 2000–2010 Amazon has developed a customer base of around 30 million people. is primarily a retail site with a sales revenue type. Amazon makes the money by retaining a small percentage of the sale price of each item that is sold through its website. In 2012 the corporation purchased Kiva Systems (present Amazon robotics) – a producer of warehouse robots for moving goods in an automatic regime. These robots allowed reducing costs of executing orders by 40%.
