The mass destruction of Indonesia’s rainforests is one of the biggest environmental issues that we face. Each minute, a forest three times larger than a football field disappears. One of the reasons for deforestation is excessive paper wastage. Indonesians know about this, but tend to forget when using the printer in the office. So how do we make Indonesians think about the effect of deforestation immediately when they are about to print their documents?
Introducing Guilty Print Device, A device that will remind people that printing mindlessly contributes to deforestation.
We created a device that will interrupt the printing process. This will make people think twice before they print. If they really need to use the printer they need to say sorry out loud. The voice sensor of the device will recognize the sound and re-connect the electricity so the printing can continue.
