Kellogg is a multinational food manufacturing company which engages in the production of cereals, cookies, fruit-flavored snacks and other foods. The trademark includes Apple Jacks, Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Keebler, Pringles, and more. Kellogg's products are manufactured in 18 countries and distributed in more than 180 countries.

History of Kellogg's

Kellogg's was initially known as “Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company.” It was founded by Will Keith Kellogg in 1906 in Michigan. In 1922 the company started to distribute its toasted corn flakes which gained a lot of success.

In 1930 Kellogg company reduced the number of working hours from 40 to 30 hours per week in most of its factories. The corporation still had extra shifts for workers to encourage them during the period of Great Depression. This idea was also used after World War II and during the crisis period. In addition, certain industries continued to stick to the 30 hour work week until 1980.

Kellogg's acquired many small businesses involved in food manufacturing. Among them are:

Kellogg made their biggest acquisition in 2001. They acquired the Keebler company. Thus, they purchased Morningstar Farms and Kashi subsidiaries. What is more, Kellogg has obtained Natural Touch, Cheez-it, Murray, Austin and Plantation brands.

Today Kellogg's company is the member of the World Cocoa Foundation. The brand price of Kellogg was $9.1 billion in 2016.

Kellogg's has tried many advertising and marketing campaigns for its promotion. The company advertises its products through social media like Facebook and Twitter. They also use print media, radio stations and cinema. Nevertheless, Kellog’s still advertises itself by means of commercials on TV to hit the target audience.

Kellogg was the first company to introduce gift items to their products. The idea became widely used by other brands as an effective marketing strategy. The ads budget of Kellogg's was $898 million in 2016.
