Pampers is an American name brand of baby and toddler products owned, manufactured and marketed by Procter & Gamble. Pampers is the largest distributor of the disposable diaper around the globe (by 2016); it was first shipped to other countries in 1961. Pampers is worth an estimated value of $11.5 billion in 2016. Pampers is the only diaper officially certified and approved by National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners (NAPNAP).


History of Pampers


Victor Mills founded Pampers in 1956 headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. Alfred Goldman derived the name "Pampers" that a grandpa knows more about the baby than the father by revolutionizing child care with the invention of disposable diapers through Pampers. Goldman who was a chemical engineer that worked for Procter and Gamble (P&G). Pampers became the first Procter and Gamble (P&G) brand to generate $10.4 billion in annual revenue for the company in 2016. Its products are used by over 25 million babies in 100 countries, according to Procter & Gamble.

Pampers has come up with different products with innovative designs and perfect understanding of a baby's need and a mother's convenience. Pampers produce varieties of products such as diapers and wipes in various sizes.

Pampers brand is not relenting in its ads campaigns various marketing strategies, such as print ads, billboards, product parenting, direct marketing program by sending related content to a broad audience concerned and television commercials. So far, these advertising strategies have proved efficient thus causing a consistent increase in their sales. Pampers ads budget was valued at $8.3 billion in 2016. Pampers offers five different kinds of diapers in nine sizes, four types of toilet training pants, swim pants and four kinds of diaper wipes (Sensitive, Natural Clean, Baby Fresh Wipes, and Kandoo Flushable Toilet Wipes).

The corporate logo for Pampers showcases a typical example of a warm, instantly striking features that reflects attributes such as love, light, sunshine and care. The logo features blue, yellow and white colors. All these colors illustrate perfection, happiness, quality, and style.

Pampers slogan “Love, sleep and play” contains useful tips about a baby's happy, healthy development as well as Product recommendations.

The diaper Giants won the "the Marketing Awards" connection in 2001. Ace Saatchi & Saatchi Manila's “ZZZ Radio” campaign for Pampers Diapers won two Gold Lotus awards and two Silver Lotus awards at this year's AdFest, held over the weekend in Pattaya, Thailand.

Regarding sponsorship, P&G has sponsored the program “Make Room for Baby on the Discovery Health Channel”.

Most importantly Pampers engages in humanitarian exercise for example in Pakistan victims of the flood were provided with free health check-ups, drugs, and oral rehydration therapy to babies and children living in flood affected areas.
