To mark Men’s Health Week 2016 beyondblue and Nissan Australia have launched 'Chat Laps' an initiative encouraging Australian men to take a drive and talk, to help battle anxiety and depression The initiative utilises the concept of a ‘lap’; a popular piece of Australian vernacular meaning to 'go for a drive around the block', to get mates speaking to each other more openly. The idea was conceived after reviewing a recent study noting men were far more likely to talk honestly when they weren't facing each other, which meant that encouraging mates to hop in the car together could potentially be life-saving.
