Happy Felix Day
Every time fan favorite Felix Hernandez steps on the mound, social media lights up with the hashtag, “Happy Felix Day.” In this spot, Felix Day is elevated to a regional holiday with fans celebrating in all kinds of creative ways. One office worker bakes baseball-themed cupcakes for his co-workers. A woman shops for the appropriate Felix Day card at a drug store greeting card display. A guy presents his girlfriend with a Felix Day ring. A reader board outside an elementary school reads, “No school today. Happy Felix Day.” The spot then cuts to Felix taking the mound and proclaiming, “It’s going to be a good day.” In the last scene, Felix strikes out an opposing batter as the Mariners catcher presents him with a golden “K” balloon (the symbol for strikeout) as a consolation prize.
